Warrenton Pediatrics was founded in 2006, and Linton Hall Pediatrics was founded in 2019, by Dr. Michael Amster.
“Northern Virginia can be so fast-paced sometimes. I longed for a medical practice where I could really get to know my patients personally and feel like I was a part of their family.”
Michael S. Amster, M.D.
Dr. Michael Amster founded Warrenton Pediatrics in 2006 after practicing medicine for four years in Centreville, Virginia. Having moved out to Warrenton a few years prior, he felt a strong need to serve his local community. “I love being involved in the lives of my patients and their families. These are my friends and my neighbors.”
Dr. Mike, or “Dr. Hamster” as some of his patients address him, enjoys sharing his expertise with the community through teaching, both in the office and at the hospital. He is the founder of the Baby Cares Essentials Class currently being taught at Fauquier Hospital and is involved in organizations such as Child Nutrition, Inc. and the Fauquier School Health Advisory Board. “I feel it’s important to use my expertise to help the children in my community thrive.” Currently, Dr. Mike is on the Head Start board for Fauquier County.
As a board-certified Pediatrician since 2002, Dr. Mike has expertise in neonatal, childhood, and adolescent medicine. Promoting good health and development is the cornerstone to his practice, with special interests in developmental pediatrics, newborn care, adolescent health, and chronic illness management. He feels it’s vitally important to work with the whole patient and their family, including the mental, physical, nutritional, and developmental factors that make up every child. “One of my best rewards from practicing medicine is the partnership made between myself, the child, and their family.”
Dr. Amster initially graduated from Northwestern with Distinction with a Biology degree in 1994. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Medicine in 1999. Having done his residency at the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, he joined Union Mill Pediatrics in Centreville in 2002. He has held certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Currently living in Warrenton with his wife and two children, Dr. Mike enjoys hiking with his girls in the Shenandoah and participating in school activities and events.
